Yes! We treat pregnant women often. Acupuncture is a safe and effective tool for pregnancy ailments, especially when the medications you might typically take are limited.
We take extra precautions with pregnancy - there are certain points we don't needle (unless we're trying to get baby out!) and we generally keep treatments on the lighter and shorter side.
In addition to safety, we also take comfort seriously. We can use pillows to prop you up, and once you hit 25+ weeks (or depending on your personal comfort level), we will typically have you lie on your side during a treatment, especially if we want to access some acupuncture points on your back.
If you're early in pregnancy and want to know the sex of your baby, we have some pulse feeling tricks for that too (although we cannot guarantee 100% accuracy!)
What can we treat during pregnancy?

We also provide patients with support for labor preparation. Starting at 36 weeks, we'll implement these labor preparation points, typically 1-2x per week. At 40 weeks, we ramp it up and add electrical stimulation. Our goal is not to put you in labor instantly - it's to accelerate the path your body is already on.
